TUSLA is undertaking an internal reform programme that will have significant consequences for social workers. Earlier this year the IASW sought to establish the level of awareness and consultation that social workers are experiencing through an online poll. The results of this poll highlighted that the majority of respondents did not feel that they had adequate information about the programme, or were being offered suitable consultation on these changes. Given this the IASW would like to invite members to an online townhall to hear from social workers and to establish more clearly what information they require from Tusla, what areas they would like to see further consultation and feedback on before these changes come into effect, what aspects of the proposals are welcomed, and what if any concerns they have for the proposed changes. Following this we will request that Tusla engage in meaningful dialogue with the IASW to consider the views and perspectives of social workers.

Three online town halls will be held on the following dates & times:

  • 14th October @ 13:00 – 14:00
  • 21st October @ 13:00 – 14:00
  • 23rd October @ 17:30 – 18:30

The discussion and comments will be recorded anonymously and used to inform the IASWs engagement with social work on this matter.

Bookings for the Town Hall will close at 10am the day before the meeting, the meeting login details will be shared with registrants via email after 10am.
