Description of relevant experience/profile:  

Evie has practised as a Social Worker since 2006 and has been working independently since 2019. 

She has extensive experience in child and adult mental health services, disability support, family and community support and as a consultant in child and family law proceedings. She has held frontline positions and worked in a managerial role within the disability services. 

Her main fields of practice have been in supporting individuals, families and health care providers access adequate therapeutic and community-based supports and educational programmes, assessments of adults and children, facilitation of in-patient and out-patient recovery groups, discharge planning and life review/life story work. 

She is a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) facilitator for people in recovery and a PISA (Psychosocial and Psychoeducation Intervention) facilitator for individuals experiencing acute trauma. Evie has facilitated recovery groups within hospital settings as well as within the wider community. 

A strong advocate of arts-based and equine therapy interventions for individuals and groups, Evie has collaborated with Waterford Healing Arts Trust to develop integrative healing arts projects with colleagues at University Hospital Waterford. 

In 2019, she qualified as a Therapeutic Riding Coach for adults and children with additional needs.
