All students graduating in any given year will automatically move to ANNUAL (one payment) First Year Post Qualify membership in March of the following year (regardless of when they joined or when they paid the last student fee). To pay your fee in monthly instalments, the member must contact the Office Administrator before 1st March.

AGM Social Workers in Disability (SWID) AGM Special Interest Group

About the group:

The Social Workers in Disability SIG consists of members from a variety of voluntary and statutory settings who work with people affected by disability from across the lifespan including families and carers. We are an active group who welcome the participation and input of new members.

Meetings:

SWID has be meeting virtually since the lockdown. SWID members have utilised the IASW’s Zoom platform. We have monthly meetings to enable SWID members to feel supported, share ideas, experiences and discuss the impact of COVID -19 on our role. Members of SWID have advised that this type of platform has enabled them to engage with the SIG again and evident from the meeting, it has increased the number of members attending the meeting.

AGM:

The SIG AGM will be held on Friday 30th  of April 2020 @10.30am. The business of the meeting will include electing committee officers and members for the coming year, reviewing the annual report, voting on any proposed motions and informing the members of previous and future activities.

Ø  Motions arising

Ø  Stand Down of Committee and Election of Chair and Secretary.

Ø  Discussion regarding plans for the year ahead.
