All students graduating in any given year will automatically move to ANNUAL (one payment) First Year Post Qualify membership in March of the following year (regardless of when they joined or when they paid the last student fee). To pay your fee in monthly instalments, the member must contact the Office Administrator before 1st March.

This lunchtime event for practice teachers will focus on the practicalities of placements including use of the CORU competencies in assessing students with a focus on supervision and feedback in placements. 

Fiachra O’ Súilleabháin and Olwen Halvey of UCC will co-facilitate this event.

Olwen Halvey is a Lecturer in Social Work at the School of Applied Social Studies, University College Cork. She is a professionally qualified social worker since 2000 and has undertaken further postgraduate studies in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. Prior to joining UCC in 2015, Olwen worked as a social worker in child protection and in medical social work. She is an experienced tutor and programme coordinator, her teaching and research interests include practice skills teaching, health-related social work and clinical supervision.”

Fiachra Ó Suilleabháin is a tenured College Lecturer/Assistant Professor and Vice-Head of School (Strategic Data and Communication) in the School of Applied Social Studies, University College Cork. A professionally qualified, CORU registered Social Worker since 2002, he teaches lectures on gender and sexualities, LGBT+ matters, social services and welfare practice, child sexual abuse, child protection and welfare, and professional practice at undergraduate and graduate levels across the College of Arts, Celtic Studies and Social Sciences.

The event is a collaboration between the NPTSWI and the IASW.
