The IASW Anti- Racism Advisory Group invites you to its 2nd Anniversary celebration of the launch of the Anti-Racism Strategy.

Book your place now and join us in celebrating two years of the progressive work of the ARAG.

We are growing our capacity in dismantling racism in social work together.

At a time when we are witnessing the rise of the far-right in Ireland and anti-migrant sentiments towards refugees and asylum seekers – What role can the social work profession play in dismantling all forms of Racism currently exhibited by these events and in the lives of those we work with?

You are welcome to be part of this progressive work.

Vivian Geiran, Chair of the IASW, will open the anniversary celebration discussions and highlight the steps that the IASW is taking in becoming an anti-racist organisation and his hopes for the future of anti-racist social work going forward. ARAG members from the different subgroups Education and Research, Policy, and Practice will reflect on the journey of implementing the strategy thus far and their vision for future strategies.

Patricia Munatsi, speaker at the event, is an international human rights lawyer, with a Master's in International Human Rights from University College Dublin and a Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree from University of Zimbabwe. She is the Legal and Policy Lead at the Irish Network Against Racism. She is also a researcher, speaker, writer, gender activist, equality, diversity & inclusion advocate, and an anti-racism trainer.

The talks on the day will appeal to practitioners and students of social work interested in racial equality and anti-racist practice.

All are welcome.
