This webinar will provide an introduction to and an overview of the Signs of Safety approach. It has been developed in response to the requests and needs of social workers across a range of areas including CAMHS, Adult Mental Health, Disability, Medical, Probation and Primary Care who work with individuals and families who are also working with Tusla social workers. Building an understanding of the Signs of Safety approach and how it is used in Tusla social work with families was identified as a learning need for social workers across a number of organisations. It is hoped that meeting this need will facilitate a more coordinated and coherent interagency approach to social work with families who have multiple agencies in their lives.
Brenda Denzler is the SofS Learning and Development Practice Lead for the Cork/Kerry areas since SofS was adopted as the national approach to CP&W practice in Tusla in 2017. Her role involves delivering training on the SofS model and helping SWs apply the model to their cases. Brenda is a qualified social worker and has worked in HSE/Tusla for 24 years, mostly in the area of children and families.
