AkiDwA is delighted to cohost this Female Genital Mutilation webinar with the Irish Association of Social Workers. Female Genital Mutilation (also known as FGM) is a human rights violation and can be an especially challenging form of gender-based violence. Social workers play a key role in supporting survivors of FGM and safeguarding children in Ireland. AkiDwA's FGM webinar will cover social and cultural background, classifications, health consequences, and provide social workers with the necessary skills to advocate for clients who have survived FGM. This includes supportive consultation, referral pathway, and the law in Ireland. Please learn more about our work at www.akidwa.ie and register for the webinar at www.iasw.ie .
